Kids of a forgetful father recently discovered a plastic of money containing P95,000. The bills, however, belong to the 1985 bank series which have already been demonetized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas since June 30, 2017.
It is unfortunate that P95,000 will no longer have any value today. But hope may be lodged if the BSP will change its mind and allow to accept the money for trade to the new 2010 bank series.
Though reconsideration may be hard as the BSP already extended its deadline for demonetization from January 1 to June 30 of this year. The campaign to demonetized the old bills was also launched way back in 2015.
If the P95,000.00 will not be traded to the new bills though, it is very disheartening to the family, especially to the forgetful father, who was saving money for later days only to find out that the same no longer have value.
